Training, Qualifications and Experience

I am a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor. I work as a counsellor in private practice and Student Counsellor at the University of Westminster. I also hold a position as an Honorary Psychodynamic Counsellor in adult mental health in an NHS hospital. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I adhere to the Association’s Code of Ethics.

I trained at Birkbeck, University of London, where I did the Certificate in Counselling. From here I continued my training to graduate with a Masters Degree - MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling. At Birkbeck I have also studied Psychology including Biological Basis of Behaviour and Research Methods for Psychology.

Areas of Experience

I have experience of working with abuse, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, low self-esteem, trauma-including childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, work-related issues and bullying, personal development, sexual issues, unemployment and long term unemployment as individuals or groups, bereavement and loss, addictive-obsessional behaviour and eating disorders. I also have experience of working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse and survivors of torture.

I see adult individuals, adolescents and young people. I also provide student counselling and counselling for the elderly.
