Training, Qualifications and ExperienceI am a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor. I work as a counsellor in private practice and Student Counsellor at the University of Westminster. I also hold a position as an Honorary Psychodynamic Counsellor in adult mental health in an NHS hospital. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I adhere to the Association’s Code of Ethics.I trained at Birkbeck, University of London, where I did the Certificate in Counselling. From here I continued my training to graduate with a Masters Degree - MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling. At Birkbeck I have also studied Psychology including Biological Basis of Behaviour and Research Methods for Psychology. Continuing Professional Development Psychodynamic Approaches to Working with Children, Adolescents and Their Families, The Tavistock and Portman , 2010 Areas of Experience I have experience of working with abuse, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, low self-esteem, trauma-including childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, work-related issues and bullying, personal development, sexual issues, unemployment and long term unemployment as individuals or groups, bereavement and loss, addictive-obsessional behaviour and eating disorders. I also have experience of working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse and survivors of torture. I see adult individuals, adolescents and young people.
